The Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (CPAs) is the peak professional body for certified public accountants in Australia. It is the largest professional accounting body in Australia, with over 100,000 members. The Society is responsible for setting and maintaining the standards of professional practice for CPAs in Australia.
The Society is governed by a Board of Directors, which is made up of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and up to 15 other directors. The Board is elected by the members of the Society and is responsible for setting the Society's strategic direction and overseeing its operations. The Society also has a number of committees, which are responsible for overseeing the professional activities of its members. These committees include the Professional Standards Committee, the Education Committee, the Audit and Risk Committee, the Ethics Committee and the Professional Conduct Committee.
