A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a professional designation given to those who have completed a course of study in accounting and have passed the CPA examination. CPAs are responsible for providing a variety of services, including auditing financial statements, preparing tax returns, and providing financial advice to their clients. They may also provide services such as financial planning, budgeting, and estate planning. In order to become a CPA in Australia, an individual must complete a minimum of three years of university study in accounting, pass the CPA examination, and meet the requirements for registration with the relevant state board of accountancy. The CPA examination is administered by the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
